Upsala Area Schools has three students attending the 97th National FFA Convention and Expo this year in Indianapolis, Indiana - Trygg Aleckson, Aubree Roerick, and Skyler Landowski. They, along with adviser Audrey Schleper, will be attending sessions chaired by the National FFA Officer team, hearing from keynote speakers, and seeing results of the national contests. The kids will also be attending one of the largest career and college fairs in the country, and hearing from guest speakers like renowned animal scientist Temple Grandin. There will also be an opportunity to watch the final rounds of some of the national competitions.
On the way to Indianapolis they toured Fair Oaks Farm, a 20,000 acre dairy and hog farm with a 72-cow rotating carousel milking system. Also included in the itinerary is Beasley Orchard and a visit to the Indianapolis Zoo.
This is a record-breaking convention, with over 67,000 members and guests attending. It's a great opportunity to celebrate accomplishments, connect with members from across the country, and get inspired and fired up to bring the best of what FFA has to offer to our chapter for the rest of the year!
