Principal Greeting

Cardinal Head High School Student of the Month

Upsala High School is proud to announce its February Student of the Month, Isaiah Wardlaw. Isaiah is the son of Terry and Sara Wardlaw. His siblings are Elijah, Lois, Joshua, and Caleb.

Wardlaw participates in Knowledge Bowl, and Robotics. At the recent robotics competition, Wardlaw was a FIRST Ambassador and helped to show CEOs around the competition floor.

Warlaw states that his favorite and most valuable class is robotics since it is helping to prepare him for a future STEM (science, technology, engineering. and/or math) career. Wardlaw is the class treasurer and has made the A Honor Roll.

Outside of school, Wardlaw works at Schultz Auctioneers Landmark Realty, Inc. His hobbies include reading and building with LEGOs. He is currently attempting to build a 3D printer using his LEGOs and a 3D pen. He also enjoys sketching technical diagrams of random mechanical objects and running through math problems. He comments that one only needs to ask him mom about the amount of notebook paper in his room to verify these hobbies.

After high school, Wardlaw currently plans to attend college to become an aerospace engineer, but is also interested in the rapid prototype business (3D printing & CNC milling).

His advice for his classmates is, "Trust God and the rest will follow."
Cardinal Head Junior High Student of the Month

Congratulations to Taylor Soltis who has been chosen by Upsala High School staff as Junior High Student of the Month for February. Soltis is the eighth grade daughter of Trevor and Melissa Soltis. Her siblings are Alexis and Dakota.

Soltis has been on the A Honor Roll and is a previous Student of the Month. Soltis's favorite class is US History because she has fun and learns a lot in the class. She feels her most valuable class is English because she feels that learning to write papers will be something she uses in college.

Soltis participates in basketball, volleyball, and softball. Her favorite hobby is playing basketball. Outside of school, she also enjoys swimming and boating in the summer.

Soltis's advice for classmates is "Have fun in school while it lasts."
